The Dragons played at a tournament in Merano

The hockey players of Olimpija Ljubljana participated in the Hansjörg Brunner Memorial Tournament in Merano last weekend. They played two games against German teams – the first against Augsburg Panthers, who play in the German first league, and the second against EV Landshut, who play in the DEL2 league.

The Dragons started well against Augsburg, but they committed too many penalties in the second and final periods – a total of 24 minutes. Despite this, with excellent play while shorthanded and good saves by goalie Horak, they managed to keep the score 1:1 until the end of regulation time. In the shootout, Augsburg was more successful and won 2:1. The scorer for Olimpija was Kerbashian.

In the second game against EV Landshut, Olimpija Ljubljana lost 2:5. They played well and controlled the game until the end of the second period, but two quick goals at the start of the final period clipped their wings. The final goal by the Germans was an empty-netter. The scorers for Olimpija were Sodja and Kerbashian.
